Craftsmanship & Unique Design
This cue is crafted from spalted tamarind, a wood celebrated for its dramatic natural patterns, and reinforced with a Canadian hard maple core to ensure stability and straightness. The embossed leather wrap provides both comfort and control, making it suitable for extended play sessions.
What makes this cue truly unique are the Pearl Resin inlays, crafted in vivid shades of blue, pink, and violet, accented with abalone shell. This creates a vibrant and colorful motif that sets it apart from traditional inlay styles. The design merges classic craftsmanship with modern artistry.
Breaking Tradition with Pearl Resin
The first design of this cue was commissioned by Sir Steven, a player in the USA, who asked for a cue built from spalted tamarind with colorful veneer points. Since dyed veneers were not part of my style, I proposed an alternative: using Pearl Resin as the “veneers”. I had never seen it done before, but I took the challenge.
The result was extraordinary: a cue that combined natural spalted tamarind with vibrant Pearl Resin colors and shimmering abalone shell. The experiment exceeded expectations, creating a piece that is not only functional but also a true artistic statement — one of the most enjoyable builds I’ve completed.
